Dog Dance

My dog has been dancing

today, has been throwing

himself over the couch

like a coat

tossed on a hanger. My dog

wipes his nose on the floor,

lines of silvery wet

curving and squeaking

as he vacumns up crumbs.

  1. HA! Love this! I have a dog who does the same. Thanks for adding your work to our November prompts. I hope we will see more of your poems in the months to come!

  2. Your dog is adorable – and so is this poem. 🙂 When I read the description of your dog’s movements, I couldn’t help but think of a parallel between a dancing dog and the spinning cogs in the machine in the picture that goes with the WWP prompt.

And BTW, welcome. Glad to see you at WWP.
